About us
Southern Explosives Supplies started as a one man operation in 1980. More than four decades later we are still privately owned and still doing the same work: drilling and blasting rock for the mines, quarries and civil contractors of New South Wales.
How we work
We own our equipment and keep it current, with the latest Epiroc T45 MK2 rigs alongside Furukawa rigs and specialised drilling gear. Our own maintenance division services the fleet, and our own training and competency programs qualify every operator before they work a pattern.
Our blasting division holds supply agreements with all major explosives manufacturers, and our shotfirers, drillers and technicians work to the same standard on a council job as they do on a major mine.
That self reliance is deliberate. When the rig, the crew, the design and the workshop all belong to one company, accountability is simple and problems get fixed fast.
Who we work for
Our clients include Holcim, Hanson, Boral, Cleary Bros, Bald Hill Quarry, Blue Ridge Quarries and local councils across New South Wales, alongside mining and civil contractors of every size.
Much of our work is repeat business on sites we have drilled for years, which is the measure we care most about.
