Southern Explosives Supplies started as a one man operation in 1980. Today we run a modern fleet of GPS guided drill rigs, our own blasting division and fully equipped maintenance workshops, servicing mines, quarries and civil projects across New South Wales.

A modern fleet of Epiroc T45 MK2 rigs in long and short mast configurations, backed by Furukawa rigs and specialised drilling equipment. Every operator comes through our in-house training and competency program before they touch a pattern.
Our Epiroc rigs are fitted with the Hole Navigation System, GPS guided drilling that removes the need for survey mark-up on the blast floor. Drilling is more accurate, mobilisation is faster and every hole goes in on design.

We deliver complete rock on ground contracts, taking each blast from design through drilling, loading and firing. Our blasting division holds supply agreements with all major explosives manufacturers and our shotfirers are experienced across mining and quarry work.
Each blast is designed around the requirements of the operation, whether that is fragmentation, oversize reduction, vibration and air overpressure control, fly rock management, pit wall protection or ore control.

All of our monitoring equipment is fully compliant with Australian standards and regulatory requirements. GPS pinned coordinates give accurate location data for predicting and measuring ground vibration and air overpressure, and support compliance reporting for every blast.
We monitor from fixed locations or set positions for each blast, placed in relation to known vibration sensitive areas so the data captured is relevant and accurate.

Our maintenance division has over 50 years of combined industry experience, fully equipped workshops and field service technicians available on site or in the workshop. Services cover plant maintenance, breakdown repairs, drifter and hammer rebuilds, hydraulic diagnostics and preventative maintenance programs.
Our in-house engineering capability lets us design, manufacture and modify tooling and replacement components when OEM parts are unavailable or on long lead times.
